During pregnancy period, it is very advisable that a pregnant woman should extremely be careful of the foods she takes in into body in order to prevent anything that will cause harm for her or the foetus inside her womb.  Every pregnant woman should be mindful to make sure that she has the right access to right and healthy fruits and vegetables that she will be needing for the proper development of her baby. So this is why there are some fruits you need to avoid when pregnant because it might some harm for you or the baby, they are :

Pineapple

Pineapple is number one on the list of fruits that should be avoided during the first three months of pregnancy because pineapples cause uterine contraction which could lead to miscarriage and also pineapples to contain an enzyme called Bromelain which breaks down protein which in turn softens the cervix and this could lead to early labour.

Grapes

Grape is another fruit to be best avoided during pregnancy because it contains such compounds which could be very toxic to pregnant women.  Grapes can also cause early morning sickness and diarrhoea for pregnant women.

Paw-paw

Paw-paw is one of the fruits should also avoid during pregnancy although it is rich in micronutrients and vitamins it could be very dangerous for pregnant women as it causes their body temperature to shoot up which could be bad for them, it also contains latex that causes uterine contraction which could lead to bleeding or even miscarriage and it can also cause impaired development of the developing foetus.

Bananas

It may surprise you to know that bananas although healthy to some extent could be dangerous for pregnant women most especially for pregnant women have allergies and are diabetic because banana contains chitinase a latex-like substance which is known to be an allergen and it also contains a high level of sugars which is totally not good for pregnant women.

Watermelon

Watermelon is a healthy fruit regardless of, it is of a great importance in the flushing away of toxins in the body because of it’s high of water content but it could be bad because it can be exposing the foetus to various toxins during the flushing process which is very bad and it is also a cold inducing fruit which is not healthy for pregnant women.
